Tutorial to make a perfect and easy drip cake quickly and easily
When we did one of our famous ones Cake Design Competitions on our Facebook page, this time with Drip Cake theme, I would never have imagined the immense amount of photos of wonderful cakes that would have arrived. They were one more beautiful than the other and it was really very difficult to choose the most beautiful photos!
Even more difficult it was to choose the winner of the competition Drip Cake Tutorial, because among the photos of the people who have joined this part of the competition there were only real masterpieces. And it's always very difficult to choose. I made the selection of 5 more beautiful cakes including and in the end it is victorious Jade Maggiolini.
This competition has its own particular history and if I think about it, it comes to smile, because life always reserves our surprises.
After I chose Jade and published the result on the page and I was obviously I went to his facebook profile to peek and to see where to send the products to perform the tutorial, what other jobs had done etc. etc ... I had never visited the profiles of the finalists first, especially for Don't make me influence in the final choice from other work. I wanted it to be a choice of the moment only for what they presented.
But back to Jade's profile ... I'm going to peek out the profile and stayed PETRIFIED!
I swear, I didn't know if you laugh or even stay out of the PC screen! Do you know what I discovered? Jade has a frelato 5 minutes walk from my house in front of which several times have passed (I have never entered the diet ... I bet many of you know what I talk about!) So I ignored totally that in the small and delicious ice cream parlor A young and very promising cake designer was also hiding.
Also, after bringing the products to prepare the Jade tutorial, I could not resist and tasted their delicious ice creams too! Which also have a peculiarity that I have never seen from any other side ...the hot ice cream!
What is a hot ice cream? I didn't understand it well ... but it looks like a spreadable semifreddo like ice cream! The only thing I really understand (unfortunately for me) is the fact that it is yummy and that I really like too much. If I could eat it every day!
At the end of this article I will leave you, as always, the contact in Jade and if you are in the Turin area you must absolutely take a jump in this glazing gem.
But now let's go back to our tutorial! Drip Cake is one of my favorite cakes, because it is beautiful to see and very delicious to eat for which I am happy that we can present this short tutorial thanks to the very sweet and very kind Jade. In order to prepare this step by step we supplied the following products to Jade:
Now finally pass word at the very good jade .. have fun.
Drip Cake is a scenic cake that comes from Great Britain. The name perfectly explains its appearance: "Drip" in fact, it means dripping and "cake" cake, it is therefore a cake with icing that drips greedily! Let's see together how to prepare it!
To prepare your perfect Drip Cake you will need:
- Molly cake or your personal base
- Your favorite cream
- Butter
- Sugar paste
- Colorful beads and sugar
- Sottotorta
- Spatula
- Sac àimhe
1
I used a "molly cake" vanilla, excellent because soft and compact.
2
For convenience I cooked the dough in three separate trays, so you can divide each cake in half and use 2cm height sponge cake layers.
3
Prepare the filling that you like and start filling our drip cake. In this case I used a classic lemon pastry cream.
4
Start with the first layer, wetting it slightly with what you like best. Start filling with the help of a sac à a few.
5
Repeat the operation until you reach the desired height. If you want, you can also use a polystyrene base to raise your cake, and you will have an insured "wow" effect!
6
Once the cake filled, let it cool in the refrigerator.
7
Meanwhile, prepare the butter cream, which will serve us to fill our drip cake. With the preparation"Flower Cream Madam Loulou" they will be enough three minutes and the result is really excellent!
8
Now that our cake is cold, helping us with a few sac, and a swivel dish, let's start filling our cake.
9
With the help of a spatula covering the whole surface.
10
To firm in the refrigerator, if necessary, create a second layer of butter cream to "plug the holes" and place on the blue tray. It is very important to remember to put a knob of butter cream in the center of the tray because it will do as a glue.
11
Cool the freezer drip cake (if possible).
12
The cake is now ready to be frosted at our leisure! Great results are obtained by dissolving "Candy Melts", using melted chocolate combined with milk / cream, or simply heating nutella! In this case, I used a glossy white laboratory glaze, and I colored blue, as required the set theme!
13
Start covering the surface of the cake, starting from the center. The glaze must be liquid, but not warm! With a spatolina or a spoon, spread the icing and cover up to the edge. With the help of the sac à a few, starting from the edges (outward) to make punctures.
14
We just have to make room for our imagination and decorate at will! The more we crush and plus the casting of icing will run vertically on the surface so we will have more or less long drunkards, according to our tastes
15
And here is our spectacular Drip Cake! I created two lollipops in Isomalt, and I used blueberry blue sugar paste (Madame Loulou) to create marshmellows, candy and the "puffo" ice cream cone ball.
I completed the decoration with:
- flower-shaped sugar - Flowers Mix Wilton
- blue Blue Sprinkles Colored Sugars - Wilton
- mOMPARELLA AZZURRO - NONPAREILS BLUEFuncakes
I thank Terezia e Sugarmania.it for the wonderful opportunityHave fun to all!
