Interview with Daniele Cannarozzo, a very young talented cake designer and sympathy.
Daniel impressed me with his originality and after having known him, even if only via messages, even with his great sympathy. Daniel is a young boy, always looking for news and with a unique fantasy, which I think will take a long way in the world of cake design.

1 // Hi Daniel, tell us something about you and how and when your passion for cake design was born?
Hi Terezie. Oh mom, with dates I'm just a landslide! I will make an effort ... My trip to the world of cake design began in September 2016 (month more month less). A little for play and a little moved from curiosity, I made a "suicide" course of advanced modelling (held by a professional company note) without even knowing what the sugar paste was. From there was the irrelevant desire to express myself through this art.
It is not something born from nothing. I love all manual arts in general and many of them have practiced them or practical still today. Some examples: pyrography, glass engraving, carving, oil painting, lathe work and even the "unconventional", embroidery, crochet and mesh.
Congratulations you are a 360-degree artist, you don't see young boys often, who like you love art in many facets!
2 // your cakes do you create them all by yourself starting from the bases, creams and fillings or do you only take care of the final decoration?
Thank you very much! Yes, I take care of everything from the bases to the fillings and finally decorations.
I really like experimenting in the pastry sector, new doughs, creams, combinations even if the decoration remains absolutely the world in which I love to express myself.
3 // Do you tell us how the decoration of a cake is born? Do you create a project of your imagination or take inspiration from other cakes or some of your favorite cake designers?
The project of a cake, as far as I am concerned, comes from the intersement between the desires of the client and my way of expressing myself. Often my main goal focuses in representing it and surprising it and it is precisely for this reason that I often speak for days with those who require me a cake before realizing everything in an idea (some hate me for this!
It almost looks like a quiz: "Answer a thousand questions in two days"). In practice, sometimes I sketch the design that I go by defining in the process, others I have a clear and clear idea in mind, others still have a river of ideas, and there I have to be good at capturing the most stimulating one. Simple no?
We see that you keep us so surprising people, who order you the cake and surely you can do it great.
4 // Daniele, I was literally fascinated by your pop up cakeCan you tell us how this original idea was born and how did you manage to make it?
Have you ever seen the Jumanji movie, where this mysterious box through tribal drum sounds attracts to if the players to induce them to play? One afternoon I was at home of friends, sitting on a small armchair opposite the library, waiting to go out to dine together. My look lost in the void and tired for the long wait, was attracted to a small book, never seen before in that bookstore. It was a pop up book. Once opened, for two months I had to play the game until the end of the game, the beginning. The possibility of making a pop-up and 100% edible cake.
Once angelic, the first pop up cake, I wanted to make the video you find on my Facebook page or on my YouTube channel, to crown this fantastic journeyIn short, to be short, an idea, a desire, various trials and failed attempts, white nights and finally many, many smiles. 5 // Have you ever thought about making a video tutorial or teach the method of how to create a fantastic pop up cake?
Yes, I'm working to organize courses where you can teach this method. The idea that someone else can travel this new way greatly excites me. It's a bit like having a new window at your disposal, towards a horizon to be discovered.
I guess how you feel. It must be exciting to teach such a beautiful art to other people. If you like it, when you know the dates of the courses we willingly share them on our page and on the site, so as to give everyone the opportunity to be able to register.
6 // Are there cake design tools without which you could no longer do without?
Surely the various brushes with silicone tip. While changing the size based on the subject, I use almost always three forms. I don't think I could model the faces without themA tool I found of great utility are the Easy Eyes of Silvia Mancini.
I was lucky enough to receive them by winning the "Be Original" award at Saracino Italian ContestI'm still testing them in various jobs but I already find them very comfortable.
7 // Would you like to share your first cake with sugar paste with us?
Of course! It had to be a pink cake rose though ... let's miss it! The pupetta on top was the result of that famous course that started everything.
8 // Show us and describe your 5 favorite creations, the ones you like best or have you stayed in your heart?
Terezie I think it's the most difficult question so far! How can I choose 5 creations in the midst of my work? I mean, each of them brings with it something, a memory, a meaning. I don't want to look like Miss Italy doing the speech "... it's like my children!" Let's see ..
Definitely Miss Rose, the first, the doll of Pink Cake Rose. When I see the photos I still emize me because it reminds me of the crazy beginning of this adventure. Having set a doll with a single course gave me satisfaction. Eh yes, I'm happy with it!
Then the work I called "over". With this work I participated in my first contest where silver has unexpectedly. It is not a job with a lot of technique but much load of meaning. The barrier that separates two people, whatever it is, is dissolved in front of the most pure primordial feeling, love.

SUNFLOWER //Chapter 1 - Never trust an elf, magic always has a price
Okay, I admit, I wanted to cheat ... you also know the legend of the magical sowing of the elves decorators. I wanted to win this contest at all costs and soThe, I bought a seed from them making it explain everything well.

Chapter 4 - What matters, in a last greeting.

9 // How do you see your future in the world of cake design?
In general I never look at the future, not project. I live life as if it were a road to travel, an experience, making as much as possible what I like to do and what makes me feel good, so even in this world of cake design. The idea that the future belongs to us or we can plan it makes us feel good but it is a utopia. I am far more stimulating to find myself in the middle of a sea with my little boat and decide daily how to deal with it, what to discover, where to go. I apologize for the words of words but I could not express better than the concept.
10 // Is there anything I didn't ask you and you would like to tell us? A curiosity or some funny story that happened to you maybe with a delivery?
A funny delivery came to me when I lived in Monaco. A simple wedding cake accompanied by cupcake took me. The very helpful and very kind boys. The conditions of sale did not include delivery to the restaurant because the boys wanted to do it. Then I draw up a list with all the recommendations of the case so that it arrived as healthy and except.
"I recommend guys! There is an hour and a halfway to 20 km / h! Or van with a cold room (it was very hot!) Or refrigerated thermal box and air conditioning a thousand inside the machine ", them" yes ".
Driin, the bell sound on the day of delivery. I open, I make them sit ... they show up with a simple polystyrene container. I thought I was playing a joke! And instead no.
